Nuggets End Lakers Successful Streak At Nine
In a matchup of two NBA Western Conference teams in very good form, the Denver Nuggets denied the Los Angeles Lakers their 10th straight triumph by defeating the defending World Champions 95-90 at the Staples Center on Sunday. The win improved Denver’s winning streak to 6 games and helped harden their lock on 5th place in the Western Conference standings. The loss dropped the Lakers to 2.5 games back of the West leading San Antonio Spurs who had little difficulty defeating the Phoenix Suns earlier in the day.

Nuggets’ coach George Karl said that flexibility is key on a set without a ‘go to’ scoring threat:
“We don’t have a closer that’s going to make a big-time shot, but we have guys that are organized for the challenge. As a team and a coaching staff, we have to job together to try to get good shots in that place.”
Denver will came back to home to take on the Oklahoma City Thunder on Tuesday go after by road games against the Mavericks in Dallas and a rematch with the Thunder. The Lakers multitude Utah on Tuesday before road games at Golden State and Portland.
